The Writing and Illustrations

My writing and drawings evolved dramatically while I was working as a counselor and sensitivity trainer in the early 1970’s. In helping others find and define themselves, I have come to understand who I am and how our feelings transcend all nationalities, time and cultures.

The writings and artwork are inspired by events that have impacted how I see and feel about people, places and things. Because they are created through emotions, they have been seen as universal in their ability to touch and transcend to the core beliefs about who we are, our family and our faith.

There are basically three symbols that run through my art, the heart, the star and the eye. The heart is our essence, our energy. The star is intellect. And the eye is the capacity to see beyond.

In 1972 I made a commitment to live my life as an artist with the full understanding that I am the creator of my own world. I wanted to be a proactive force rather than reactive. Through my art I express what I experience, what I see, and all that is possible.

Throughout my work you will always find a profound sense of hope: a total commitment to the faith that life is worth living. It is why we breathe; why our hearts continue to beat. We are all worth loving; and if we can accept ourselves, it will show the way to accept and ultimately love others. This is what life is all about.

What was missing in my writing was the acknowledgment of the unconditional love that God has guided me through this process. I understand and feel blessed with the words and images I have been given the ability to create. They have touched the many that have received them as gifts.

The dream I have had since I was a little boy was that my words and art would touch many people and offer them solace, peace and renew their faith and hope.

It is in this light, in this love, in this joy and faith that we are here to see, learn and help serve others that I share my words and art with you. It is with the unconditional commitment that I dedicated my life to this art through the kindness and joy of our Lord who enabled me to create it.
